Southern Jersey Shore Chapter- Oncology Nursing Society 2008 Strategic Plan and Goals
1. Maintain membership at a minimum of 70 persons.
2. Provide oncology education within our service area to a broad base of oncology health care practitioners via a minimum of six programs.
3. Support the Oncology Nursing Foundation “CLIR” project through the collection of annual chapter dues from our members in the amount of $350.
4. Recognize excellence in oncology care at the local level by continuing Chapter awards including “Chapter Service Award” and “Priscilla Herman Award for Excellence in Supportive Care”. The latter award is in honor of deceased President Elect Priscilla Herman.
5. Provide two community targeted educational programs in collaboration with other community organizations.
6. Support two individuals for Congress or IOL through scholarship process (two $500 awards).
7. Conduct ongoing Needs Assessment for educational programming via program evaluations.
8. Reward oncology nurses who successfully pass an ONCC certification exam or renew via ONC-PRO with a $50 honorarium.
9. Continue communication among membership via quarterly newsletter and via the Chapters Virtual Community on ons.org.
10. Apply for national ONS Chapter Excellence Award.
